On the afternoon of March 14, the delegation led by Mr. Bountheung Douangsavanh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Laos, visited and worked at Yen Phong Industrial Park, developed by Viglacera Corporation – JSC. Accompanying the delegation were the Lao Economic and Trade Counselor in Vietnam, representatives of the Leaders of the Industry and Crafts Department and experts from the Lao Ministry of Industry and Trade. The Vietnamese side had representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam including leaders of the local Department of Industry and Trade, the Asia-Africa Market Department, the Trade Promotion Department, and the Ministry’s Office.
At the meeting, leaders of the Management Board of Bac Ninh Industrial Parks shared about legal issues and procedures for investment in industrial zones in Vietnam in general and in Bac Ninh province with the delegation.
Viglacera’s representative also introduced to the delegation about Yen Phong Industrial Park – one of the model industrial parks in the province, exchanged experience in investment promotion and attracting enterprises to invest in the industrial park, as well as experience in industrial park management and operation.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Laos continued to share opportunities to invest in industrial zones in Laos, investment attraction policies and environment there, and hoped that Viglacera Corporation, with its previous experience in investing in an industrial park in Cuba, would priotize Laos to be the next potential market with many incentives to attract investment from the government.
After the meeting, the delegation visited workers’ housing and technical infrastructure in Yen Phong Industrial Park, especially the wastewater treatment area. There, wastewater after treatment will be cleaned to meet environmental standards TCVN 5945 – 2005 type A, and flow through the conditioning reservoir before being discharged into the general drainage system of the area.
